Model Context Protocol
AgentReel MCP server
Connect your AI assistant to AgentReel with one URL. Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and Cursor can then make images, AI videos, template videos, video ads and B-roll cuts for you, with the same tools, models and credits as the website.
Free to connect. Sign in with your AgentReel account in the browser; you never paste an API key.
Manage connected appsOne URL for every app
AgentReel runs a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP. Add the address below to your app as a custom connector or MCP server. The first time the app calls a tool, your browser opens the AgentReel sign-in page, and you choose whether to allow the app.
https://agentreel.co/api/mcpSelect the address, copy it, and paste it into your app.
Works with the AI apps you already use
Every app below supports remote MCP servers with OAuth sign-in. Pick yours for the exact steps in the guide.
Claude Code
Run claude mcp add --transport http agentreel https://agentreel.co/api/mcp in your terminal. Then type /mcp inside Claude Code, pick agentreel and sign in.
Setup stepsClaude and Claude Desktop
Open Customize, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste the URL, select Add, then Connect. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner adds the connector in Organization settings.
Setup stepsChatGPT
Add a custom MCP server with OAuth sign-in from the plugins page on chatgpt.com, or from Settings in the desktop app. Whether you can add one depends on your plan and workspace settings.
Setup stepsCodex
Run codex mcp add agentreel --url https://agentreel.co/api/mcp, then codex mcp login agentreel. The browser opens once, and Codex keeps the sign-in.
Setup stepsCursor
Add an agentreel entry with the URL to the mcpServers list of ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Turn the server on in the Cursor settings and sign in when Cursor asks.

What your AI app can do
The server gives your app twelve creative tools and six helpers. The helpers import files, list your workspace, follow running jobs, read your credit balance and search this help center.
- AI images
- Make an image from a prompt, or edit and follow reference images, with Z-Image, Nano Banana, Seedream, GPT Image, Imagen and more. Pick the aspect ratio and the model options by name.
- AI videos
- Make a video clip from a prompt or a start image with Kling, Veo, Seedance, Wan, Hailuo and more. Choose the length, the resolution and the aspect ratio the model offers.
- Video templates
- Render one of the AgentReel video templates from its fields, such as headlines, pictures and clips. The template sets the length. Template renders are one of the three things free credits pay for.
- Code to Video
- Describe a motion graphics video with text, shapes, charts, counters and your own pictures, and get an original video written in code, checked frame by frame and rendered. Free credits pay for it too.
- HTML render
- Render an HTML animation that you already wrote as an MP4 video, exactly as written. When you have no HTML, Code to Video writes the animation for you.
- Video ads
- Turn a product brief into a finished video ad: concepts, script, voiceover, stills, clips and the final cut, at the length, aspect ratio and number of versions you pick.
- B-roll cut
- Give a script and your own footage. An AI voice reads the script, the voiceover is matched shot by shot to your clips, and the cut gets captions and music.
- Talking-head cut
- Remove the silences, filler words and repeated takes from a talking-head recording, then render the cut with optional captions and zoom.
- AI video editor
- Edit a video with one instruction: cut, retime, frame, grade and caption it, or place a logo over it, then render the result.
- Video translator
- Translate the speech of a video into another language, as subtitles or as a dubbed voice.
- AI avatar video
- Make a portrait speak your script in a stock voice or in your own cloned voice, with optional captions.
- Voice clone
- Clone your own voice from a short recording, then use it for avatar videos and voiceovers.
How credits work
A connected app spends the credits of your AgentReel account. Every tool costs the same credits as on its own page, and the job tells your app its estimated credits when it starts. A job that fails gives its credits back. Connecting an app costs nothing.
Before your first purchase, a connected app can spend credits on Z-Image images, video templates and Code to Video only. Every other tool needs a purchase. The free B-roll trial and the free AI video are only on the website.
Three steps to your first video
- 1
Add the server
Paste https://agentreel.co/api/mcp into your app as a custom connector or MCP server. The guide has the exact menu or command for each app.
- 2
Sign in and allow
Your browser opens AgentReel. Sign in with your registered account, read what the app may do, and select Allow. AgentReel asks every time an app connects.
- 3
Ask for what you want
Ask in your own words, for example a 9:16 product video from three photos. The app picks the tool, starts the job, and brings back the finished files.
Frequently asked questions
What is an MCP server?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI app call tools on other services. The AgentReel MCP server gives your AI app the AgentReel tools, so it can make images and videos for you while you work.
Do I need an API key?
No. Your app signs in through your browser with OAuth, the same way you sign in to the website. You see which app asks for access and you choose Allow or Deny. AgentReel never shows your password to the app.
What does it cost?
Connecting is free. Each tool spends the same credits as on its own page on agentreel.co, from the same balance. Your app can read your balance with a tool, and a failed job gives its credits back.
Can a free account use it?
Yes, with limits. Before your first purchase, a connected app can spend credits on Z-Image images, video templates and Code to Video only. Every other tool needs a purchase. The free B-roll trial and the free AI video are only on the website. A guest session cannot connect: register an account first.
Where do the files go?
Each connected app gets its own workspace: a conversation in the AI Video Agent named after the app. Files your app imports and every finished result are saved there, so you can open them on the website at any time.
How do I use a video from my computer?
Give your app a public link to the file, and it imports the file with the import_file tool. You can also upload the file to the app's conversation in the AI Video Agent, and the app finds it in its workspace.
How do I disconnect an app?
Open Connected apps in your dashboard and select Disconnect next to the app. The app loses access at once. A connection also ends by itself after 180 days, and then the app asks you to sign in again.
Are there limits?
Yes: 60 calls a minute, 1,000 charged tool calls a day and 5 running jobs at a time per account. A job status call can wait up to 25 seconds for a result, so your app does not need to ask again and again.
Give your AI app a video studio
Add one URL, sign in once, and ask for the images and videos you need without leaving your assistant.
