Short answer: pick Nano Banana Pro when you need 2K or 4K output, layouts with a lot of text, or a blend of several reference images. Pick Nano Banana for fast drafts, many variations and edits with up to 10 references. On AgentReel, Nano Banana costs 1 credit per image. Nano Banana Pro costs 5 credits at 1K or 2K and 6 at 4K, as of 2026-10-31.
We built this comparison from two kinds of sources. For the models themselves, we read the Kie API reference on docs.kie.ai and Kie's model pages. For what you can actually set on AgentReel, we used AgentReel's own model settings and pricing. We kept these two layers apart because the API has some options that AgentReel does not show. We did not run benchmarks and we report no test scores.

Nano Banana Pro
Nano Banana Pro is Google's higher-tier image model. Kie lists it as Gemini 3 Pro Image. On AgentReel it handles both text-to-image and image editing from the same prompt box.
Example output from Kie's Nano Banana Pro page.
Text, layouts and multi-object scenes
Kie positions Pro for work where structure matters. Kie's comparison table says Pro handles typography, layout and diagrams with high precision. It also says Pro renders clear, legible long text in many languages, which suits posters and UI mockups. Kie names branding packs, storyboards, packaging and infographics as its best use cases. Kie also says Pro keeps identity and proportions stable in scenes with several characters or objects.
Up to 8 references and 4K output
Pro can blend several reference images into one result. On AgentReel you can attach 0 to 8 images, which matches the 8-image cap on Kie's page. Of the two models, only Pro has a resolution setting. You pick 1K, 2K or 4K, and the price only goes up at 4K.
What the Kie API supports vs what AgentReel exposes
The Kie API reference uses one model id, nano-banana-pro, on the createTask endpoint. The input takes a prompt, an image_input list, aspect_ratio, resolution and output_format. Kie's model page says input images can be JPEG, PNG or WEBP, up to 30MB each, with up to 8 files. AgentReel exposes the prompt, 0 to 8 references, 11 aspect ratio choices and the three resolutions. AgentReel does not offer an output format option for this model.
Nano Banana
Nano Banana is the earlier, lighter Google model. Kie lists it as Gemini 2.5 Flash Image. On AgentReel it costs one fifth of Pro's lowest price.

Drafts and volume
At 1 credit per image, Nano Banana fits work where you need many tries. That includes testing prompts, building mood boards or making many versions of a social post. Kie's comparison table says it gives fast responses for quick tasks and calls Pro slower. Kie lists fast edits and lightweight creative tasks as its best use cases.
Edits with up to 10 references
On AgentReel, Nano Banana accepts more reference images than Pro: 0 to 10. Kie says its strengths are editing driven by plain-language instructions, swapping objects, and keeping a subject's identity across versions. Kie also notes its limits. It rates Nano Banana as good for short text, and as limited for multi-image work compared with Pro.
What the Kie API supports vs what AgentReel exposes
The Kie API splits this model into two ids. The google/nano-banana endpoint takes a prompt, output_format and aspect_ratio. Image editing runs on a separate id, google/nano-banana-edit, which adds an image_urls list. Kie's page allows up to 10 input images for editing, each up to 10MB. On AgentReel you never choose between ids. You write a prompt, attach 0 to 10 references and pick an aspect ratio. There is no resolution or output format setting.
Price on AgentReel
The prices below are AgentReel credits as of 2026-10-31. See pricing for current plans.
| Model | Setting | Credits per image |
|---|---|---|
| Nano Banana | Default | 1 |
| Nano Banana Pro | 1K | 5 |
| Nano Banana Pro | 2K | 5 |
| Nano Banana Pro | 4K | 6 |
Here is how that looks in plan terms. The one-time 100 Credits pack costs $11.99. It covers 100 Nano Banana images or 20 Nano Banana Pro images at 1K or 2K. The Pro plan costs $49.99 a month, or $39.16 a month billed yearly, for 1,000 credits. That covers 1,000 Nano Banana images, 200 Pro images at 2K or 166 Pro images at 4K. Every tool shows its credit price before a job starts. A failed job refunds its credits automatically.
On Pro, 1K and 2K cost the same. So there is little reason to pick 1K unless you want smaller files.
