Short answer: pick Flux 2 Pro when you want a 2K image at the lowest price, or an edit that keeps the shape of your input photo with the auto aspect ratio. Pick Seedream 5.0 Pro when you need up to 10 reference images, a 21:9 frame, or a guaranteed PNG file. On AgentReel a 2K image costs 2 credits on Flux 2 Pro and 4 credits on Seedream 5.0 Pro. At 1K both cost 2 credits.
Seedream 5.0 Pro vs Flux 2 Pro is a close match on paper. Both take a 5,000-character prompt, output 1K or 2K images and edit from references. Both sit behind the same prompt box in AgentReel, and both run through the Kie.ai API. This comparison uses the parameters in the Kie API documentation and the prices AgentReel charges today. It does not use a benchmark score, because no neutral benchmark covers both models with the same prompts.

What Seedream 5.0 Pro does best

Example output from Kie's Seedream 5.0 Pro page.
Many references in one edit
Seedream 5.0 Pro has a text-to-image endpoint and an image-to-image endpoint. The image-to-image endpoint takes up to 10 images in image_urls, and each file can be up to 30 MB. AgentReel offers all 10 slots. It helps when a product shot, a logo, a background and a style sample must all shape one picture.
The Kie example prompt keeps a model's pose and the shape of a dress, and only changes the material from metal to clear water. Say what stays and what changes.
Wide frames and a fixed file type
Seedream 5.0 Pro offers 21:9, which Flux 2 Pro does not. Use it for banners and cinematic stills. The API also lets you pick the output_format, PNG or JPEG. AgentReel always asks for PNG, so every Seedream 5.0 Pro file you download is a PNG.
Layer decomposition in the API
Kie also lists a Seedream 5.0 Pro layer decomposition endpoint. It splits one image into a base image and separate PNG layers. AgentReel does not offer it today. In the Kie API each layer is billed as one image.
Where it costs more
On AgentReel, quality basic (1K) costs 2 credits and quality high (2K) costs 4 credits. Extra reference images add a small charge, because Kie bills each input image after the first. With 4 or more references, a 1K image costs 3 credits. With 6 or more references, a 2K image costs 5 credits.
What Flux 2 Pro does best

Example output from Kie's Flux 2 Pro page.
Cheap 2K images
Flux 2 Pro charges the same 2 credits on AgentReel for 1K and 2K. Reference images do not change the price. For large images in volume, such as ad variants, it is the cheaper path.
Edits that keep the input shape
Flux 2 Pro has an auto aspect ratio for image-to-image. With auto, the output matches the ratio of the first input image. Use it to edit a photo in an odd ratio without a crop. Auto needs an input image. Without one, AgentReel falls back to 1:1.
Multi-image prompts
The image-to-image endpoint takes 1 to 8 images in input_urls, each up to 10 MB. The Kie example refers to the images by number: "the jar in image 1 is filled with capsules exactly same as image 2 with the exact logo". Number your references in the same way.
What to watch
The Kie docs say the Flux 2 Pro output format is not fixed. A result can be PNG or JPEG. If your workflow needs a lossless PNG every time, convert the file after download or use Seedream 5.0 Pro. Flux 2 Pro also has no 21:9 option.
