Short answer: Pick Nano Banana 2 if you want the lowest cost per image, up to 10 reference images, or very wide and very tall formats like 8:1 and 1:8. Pick Nano Banana Pro if you want Google's Pro image model and the same price for 1K or 2K. On AgentReel, a 1K image costs 2 credits with Nano Banana 2 and 5 credits with Nano Banana Pro (prices as of 2026-10-27, see pricing).
We used two kinds of sources for this comparison. The first is the Kie API reference on docs.kie.ai and Kie's model pages, which show what each model's API accepts. The second is the settings and credit prices AgentReel shows for each model. We did not run benchmarks, and we do not report quality scores. Where the Kie API and AgentReel differ, we say so.

Nano Banana Pro
Nano Banana Pro is Google's Pro image model. Kie lists it under the id nano-banana-pro. Its API reference calls it image generation using Google's Pro Image to Image model. Kie's model page says it runs on Gemini 3.0 Pro.
Example output from Kie's Nano Banana Pro page.
Text in images and edits
Kie's page for this model highlights native 2K output, 4K scaling and better text rendering. It also mentions stable image editing. The example above shows a poster whose text was changed into German. If your posts rely on signs, labels or captions inside the image, Kie presents this model for that job.
1K and 2K at the same price
On AgentReel, Nano Banana Pro costs 5 credits at both 1K and 2K. 4K costs 6 credits. So if you use Pro, picking 1K doesn't save credits. You can choose 2K for the same price.
Up to 8 reference images
The Kie API accepts up to 8 input images for this model, in JPEG, PNG or WEBP, each up to 30MB. AgentReel offers the same range of 0 to 8 reference images. With no images you get text-to-image. With one or more you get edits or images guided by your references.
Nano Banana 2
Nano Banana 2 is the Flash model in the family. Kie lists it as nano-banana-2 and says it is built on Gemini 3.1 Flash Image. Its API reference calls it simply image generation by Nano Banana 2.
Example output from Kie's Nano Banana 2 page.
Lower cost per image
On AgentReel, Nano Banana 2 costs less than Pro at every resolution. It costs 2 credits at 1K, 3 credits at 2K and 5 credits at 4K. At 1K that is less than half the price of Pro. If you make many drafts before you pick a final image, the savings add up.
Extreme wide and tall formats
On AgentReel, Nano Banana 2 has four ratios that Pro does not: 1:4, 4:1, 1:8 and 8:1. Kie's page names 4:1, 1:4 and 8:1 as new ultra-wide ratios and suggests them for banners, ads and wide layouts. Use them for website headers, long strips or tall story graphics.
More reference images
On AgentReel you can attach 0 to 10 reference images to Nano Banana 2, two more than Pro. Kie's playground also lists a maximum of 10 files. However, the README text on Kie's page says the API takes up to 14 input images. AgentReel caps it at 10. Kie also notes that higher resolutions take longer to generate.
What the Kie API supports vs what AgentReel exposes
Both models use the same Kie endpoint, POST /api/v1/jobs/createTask. The request takes a prompt, an image_input list, aspect_ratio, resolution and output_format. It also accepts a callBackUrl, so a server can be notified when a job finishes. For Nano Banana 2, Kie says the output defaults to 1K JPG with an automatic aspect ratio, and you can switch to PNG.
AgentReel puts both models behind one prompt box. It exposes the prompt (up to 20,000 characters), reference images, aspect ratio and resolution. Output format and callbacks are not part of AgentReel's settings for these models. If you need those controls, you have to use the Kie API, not the AgentReel interface.
Price per image on AgentReel
All prices are AgentReel credits as of 2026-10-27. Every tool shows its credit price before a job starts, and a failed job refunds its credits automatically. See pricing for plans and credit packs.
| Resolution | Nano Banana Pro | Nano Banana 2 |
|---|---|---|
| 1K | 5 credits | 2 credits |
| 2K | 5 credits | 3 credits |

For example, the 100 Credits pack costs $11.99. That covers 50 Nano Banana 2 images at 1K, or 20 Nano Banana Pro images at 1K or 2K. At 4K, it covers 20 Nano Banana 2 images or 16 Nano Banana Pro images. The Starter plan gives you 200 credits a month for $15.99 when billed monthly.
