Low price per picture

An image costs 1 to 3 credits, rising step by step from 1K to 4K. That is cheap enough to try many variations of a prompt before you pick one.

Up to ten references

Upload up to 10 images to combine or edit. More references help when one picture must include several products, people or style samples.

Strip and banner formats

Besides the usual frames, it renders tall and wide strips: 1:4, 4:1, 1:8 and 8:1, for web banners, scroll graphics and side panels. The full list is auto, 1:1, 2:3, 3:2, 3:4, 4:3, 4:5, 5:4, 9:16, 16:9, 21:9, 1:4, 4:1, 1:8, 8:1.

4K when you need it

Render at 1K, 2K, 4K. Draft at 1K, then rerun the keeper at 2K or 4K without rewriting the prompt.

Version 2.1 guide: drafts, references and cost

2.1, 2 or Pro?

Google makes all four Nano Banana models on AgentReel. Nano Banana 2.1 and Nano Banana 2 share the same frames, sizes and ten-image reference limit; 2.1 is newer and costs less at every resolution. Nano Banana Pro is the flagship, with a higher price, up to eight references and no strip formats. The original Nano Banana is a single-size option at the lowest price.

A simple routine: explore with 2.1, keep the best prompt, and render the final on Pro when the image is the hero of a page or an ad.

Prompting for variations

Change one thing at a time between runs, such as the background, the light or the camera angle, so you can tell what made the difference. Keep the rest of the prompt word for word.

Give the composition explicitly: centred, rule of thirds, top-down, close-up. For text in the image, quote the exact words and say where they sit.

Working with many references

Ten references are useful, but each one should have a job. Name them in the prompt by order, for example "the bottle from image 1, the label colours from image 2, the marble counter from image 3", and leave out pictures that add nothing.

Clean references give cleaner results. Cut products out first with the free background remover so the model does not copy stray objects.

Using strip formats well

Extreme frames like 8:1 have little height, so keep the subject simple and leave space for text. Describe the layout from left to right, or top to bottom for 1:8, so the model knows how to spread the scene.

If a banner needs exact pixel sizes, generate at the nearest frame and adjust it with the free image resizer.

What an image costs

1 to 3 credits per image, set by the resolution. The price table on this page shows every option, the Generate button shows the amount before it is charged, and failed tasks are refunded.

Credits come from a plan or credit pack; the free credits of a new account cover Z-Image, video templates and Code to Video, not this model. The credits and pricing guide has the details.
