Six aspect ratios, including 21:9

Seedance 2.5 renders in 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 21:9. Besides landscape and vertical you get square for feeds, 4:3 and 3:4 for classic and portrait framing, and 21:9 for a wide cinematic look. Pick the ratio for the place the video will be shown and the model composes for it from the first frame.

Sound with every clip

On AgentReel every clip from this model is generated with audio. Describe the ambience, the effects or the music you want in the prompt and the soundtrack is produced with the picture, so a clip is ready to post without a trip to a sound library.

First frame, last frame, or none

Without images, Seedance 2.5 runs as text-to-video. Upload one image to set the opening frame, or 2 images to set the first and the last frame. With frames the clip adapts to the shape of your images, so you do not have to match a ratio setting by hand.

Long, detailed prompts

The prompt box takes up to 20,000 characters, room for a detailed shot list, a style guide or a precise product description. Most prompts need far less, but when a shot has many requirements you do not have to leave any out.

How to make a Seedance 2.5 video

1

Open the generator with the model selected

Click the button on this page and the AI video generator opens with the model already selected.

2

Describe the shot, add frames

Write the prompt and optionally upload a first frame, or a first and last frame, to anchor the start and the end of the clip.

3

Choose ratio, resolution and length

Pick an aspect ratio, a resolution (480p, 720p, 1080p) and a duration (5s, 10s, 15s). The Generate button shows the exact credit price.

What it is good for

Cinematic wide shots

Use 21:9 for landscapes, trailers and title sequences. Cut the clips together with your own footage in the B-roll editor.

Social clips in every format

Make the same idea as 9:16 for Reels and Shorts, 1:1 for the feed and 16:9 for YouTube without cropping the subject out of the frame.

Keyframe-to-keyframe animation

Generate a start and an end image in the AI image generator, then let the model animate the move between them.

Ads and product stories

Turn a product photo into a short scene with sound. For a full ad with script, voice and several shots, try the AI video ad generator.

Seedance 2.5 guide: prompts, frames and cost

Writing a prompt that works

Describe one continuous shot. Name the subject, the action, the setting, the camera move and the sound: "a hiker reaches a ridge at sunrise, drone shot rising behind her to reveal a sea of clouds, wind and distant birds". Concrete nouns and verbs give the model something to render; vague words like "epic" or "beautiful" give it nothing to hold on to.

If you need several shots, write a separate prompt for each and generate them one by one. Join them in the AI video editor, or let the video agent plan the sequence and generate every shot for you.

Because the prompt can be long, it is tempting to stack many ideas into one clip. Resist it: one subject and one main action per clip gives the most reliable result, and the extra room is best used for detail about that one action.

Working with first and last frames

A first frame fixes how the clip opens: the subject, the framing and the colours come from your image. Adding a last frame fixes where it ends, and Seedance 2.5 fills in the motion between the two. This is the most dependable way to get a product, a logo or a character exactly right.

Use images of the same size and shape, keep the subject in a similar place, and use the prompt to describe the movement rather than the picture. Clean up or resize the images first with the free image tools if they need it.

Getting the soundtrack you want

The audio is generated from the same prompt as the picture, so describe it in the same sentence as the action it belongs to. "Waves break against the rocks" gives the model both the image and the sound; a separate list of sounds at the end of the prompt is easier for it to ignore.

Keep the sound simple: one or two clear sources and a general ambience. If the clip will carry a voice-over or a licensed song, plan to replace the generated track in the AI video editor rather than trying to describe the final mix in the prompt.

Choosing resolution and duration

The price is a per-second rate set by the resolution, times the duration. 480p is the cheapest and good for testing prompts; 720p is the default and fits most social video; 1080p is the sharpest and the most expensive. Draft at a low resolution and a short length, then render the keeper at full quality.

Pick the shortest length that holds the action. A longer clip costs more and gives the model more time to wander from the prompt.

One idea, several formats

Because six aspect ratios are available, a single concept can become a vertical Reel, a square feed post and a widescreen YouTube shot. Generate each format separately instead of cropping one clip, so the subject stays framed properly in every version.

Write the prompt once, then adjust only the camera description for each ratio: a vertical frame suits a closer shot and upward movement, a wide frame suits a lateral pan. Keeping everything else identical makes the versions look like one campaign.

What a clip costs

On AgentReel a clip costs 35 to 593 credits, depending on resolution and duration. The full table is on this page, the Generate button always shows the exact price, and a failed clip is refunded automatically.

Credits come from a plan or credit pack. Free credits cover Z-Image, video templates and Code to Video only, so this model needs paid credits. See the credits and pricing guide for how credits work.

Version 2.5 or 2.0: which to pick

Both take the same inputs: the same ratios, resolutions, durations, frames and prompt length, and both generate sound. Seedance 2.0 costs fewer credits at every resolution, which makes it a sensible choice for drafts and volume work. Version 2.5 is the newer model of the family, so try it for the clips that matter most and compare the two on your own prompt.

Other options in the same generator: Veo 3.1 goes up to 4K, Kling 3.0 has a sound switch and the widest choice of clip lengths, Wan 3.0 costs less than either Seedance model and MiniMax H3 renders up to 2K. The model overview lists them all.
