Three variants, one model menu
AgentReel offers Veo in the Fast, Lite, Quality variants. They share the same prompt box, frames and aspect ratios; what changes is how much model time a clip gets and what it costs. Lite is the cheapest way to test an idea with Veo, Fast is the everyday default, and Quality is the variant to pick for a final render you plan to publish. Because the price of every Veo combination is listed in the table above, you can choose the variant with the budget in view instead of guessing.
Text to video or first and last frame
Write a prompt and Veo runs as text-to-video. Add one image and it becomes the opening frame; add 2 images and Veo animates from the first to the last, which is the most reliable way to control where a shot starts and where it lands. Frames work well for product shots, character continuity between clips and logo reveals, because Veo no longer has to invent the subject from words alone.
Sound in every clip
Veo 3.1 on AgentReel always generates with audio, so there is no audio switch to remember and no silent clip to fix later. Describe the sound you want in the prompt, such as ambient noise, footsteps, music or a line of dialogue, and Veo tries to match it to the picture. If you need a different soundtrack, you can still replace it in the AI video editor.
Landscape and vertical, up to 4K
Clips render in 16:9, 9:16. Use 16:9 for YouTube, websites and presentations, 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Resolution is a separate setting with 720p, 1080p, 4k. Start at 720p while the prompt is still changing, then render the keeper at 1080p or 4K. The resolution changes the price, and the table on this page shows by how much for each Veo variant.
How to make a Veo 3.1 video
Open the generator with the model selected
Click Generate with Veo on this page. The AI video generator opens with Veo already selected in the model menu.
Write the prompt, add frames
Describe the shot in up to 5,000 characters: subject, action, camera move, light and sound. Optionally upload a first frame, or a first and a last frame, to pin the shot down.
Pick variant, resolution and ratio
Choose Lite, Fast or Quality, a resolution and an aspect ratio. The Generate button shows the exact Veo price in credits; click it and the clip lands in your library when it is ready.
What people make with it
Product and ad shots
Upload a clean product photo as the first frame and let Veo add the camera move, the light and the sound. For a complete ad with script, voice and several shots, use the AI video ad generator.
Vertical clips for social
Set 9:16 and Veo composes for the phone screen from the start, so you do not lose the subject to a crop. Pair it with video templates when you need a ready-made format.
Cinematic B-roll
Establishing shots, slow pushes, weather, city streets and nature scenes are a natural fit for Veo text-to-video. Cut them into your own footage with the B-roll editor.
Storyboards that move
Draw or generate two keyframes in the AI image generator, then give Veo both as first and last frame to turn a storyboard panel into a moving shot.
Veo 3.1 guide: prompts, variants and cost
Writing a prompt that works
Veo 3.1 responds best to a prompt that reads like a shot description. Start with the subject and what it does, then add where it happens, how the camera moves, what the light looks like and what we hear. A prompt such as "a barista pours latte art in a sunlit café, slow push-in at counter height, warm morning light, soft chatter and the hiss of the steam wand" gives Veo a subject, a setting, a camera, a look and a soundscape in one sentence.
Keep one main action per clip. Veo produces a single continuous shot, so a prompt that asks for three scenes usually blends them into one confused scene. If you need a sequence, generate each shot as its own Veo clip and join them in the AI video editor, or let the video agent plan and generate the shots for you.
You have up to 5,000 characters. Most good Veo prompts use far fewer; the extra room is there for dialogue lines, brand rules or a precise description of a product that has to look right.
Choosing between Lite, Fast and Quality
All three variants are Veo and take the same inputs. Lite is the cheapest and suits drafts, prompt tests and high volume social clips. Fast is the default in the generator because it balances price and detail for most work. Quality costs the most and is meant for the clip you will actually publish, such as a hero shot on a landing page or the opening of an ad.
A practical workflow is to iterate on the prompt with Veo Lite at 720p, then render the final version with Veo Fast or Quality at a higher resolution once the framing, motion and sound are right. The price table above lists every variant and resolution, so you can see what the final render will cost before you start drafting.
Getting control with first and last frames
Frames are the strongest control Veo offers on AgentReel. With one image, Veo starts the clip exactly on your picture and animates forward. With two images, it starts on the first and ends on the last, so you decide both the opening and the closing composition.
Use frames with the same aspect ratio you choose for the clip, keep the subject in a similar position in both images, and describe the motion that connects them in the prompt. If the two frames are very different, Veo has to invent a large transition and the result is less predictable. You can create matching frames in the AI image generator and clean them up with the free image tools before you upload them.
What a clip costs
Veo 3.1 is priced per clip. The variant and the resolution set the price, and on AgentReel it runs from 8 to 93 credits. There is no duration setting, so a longer prompt or a busier scene does not change the price; only the variant and resolution do.
Credits come from a credit plan or credit pack. The free credits new accounts receive cover Z-Image, video templates and Code to Video, not Veo, so you need paid credits to generate with it. The Generate button always shows the exact price, and a task that fails is refunded. For the details of how credits work, read the credits and pricing guide.
When another model fits better
Veo 3.1 is a strong choice when you want sound in the clip, a 16:9 or 9:16 frame and a resolution up to 4K. If you need a square or a 21:9 frame, a specific clip length or pricing by the second, look at the comparison table on this page: Kling 3.0 adds a duration setting and an audio switch, Seedance 2.5 and MiniMax H3 offer more aspect ratios, and Wan 3.0 costs less than either Seedance model at every resolution. Google's other 4K option, Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash, lets you pick a length from 4 to 10 seconds.
Every model on AgentReel sits in the same AI video generator, so trying the same prompt on Veo and on another model is just a change in the model menu. The model overview lists them all with their prices.
